IQHA State Show/Indy Circuit Racked Up a Whopping 9,500 Entries!

New Castle, Indiana was the site of a massive AQHA circuit that provided competitors with eight full shows spanning June 3-11. The event kicked off with the Indy Circuit June 3-6 with Shawn Hays, Tony Burris, Cindy Rucker, and Brendan Brown judging. The IQHA State Show followed June 8-11 with Christa Baldwin, Lori Gordon, Derek Hanscome, and Lisa Ligon judging.

For competitors hoping to score coveted qualifying points, this was the place to be with most class counts in the high double digits. Mark Harrell Horse Shows reports that AQHA entries were up nearly 900 entries alone for this portion of the show. The entire series reached approximately 9,500 entries across all divisions and all judges!

Exhibitors who competed at both the Indy Circuit and IQHA State Show were qualified to win joint High Point awards in the form of beautiful, work saddles from Harris Leather and Silverworks. Jackie Bauer rode Amazin Dream to win Novice Amateur High Point, sponsored by Wade Quarter Horses. The High Point Senior Horse for the show was Some Hot Potential, owned by Emma Brown. This award was sponsored by Irongate Quarter Horses.

The High Point Green Horse was Onlythebestchocolate, owned by Chelsea Martz. The award was sponsored by Gumz Farms and It’s A Southern Thing. Lily Lescun and Check My Smile were named the L1 Youth Walk/Jog High Point Champions. Logan Wheeler and Best Believe It won Amateur High Point, sponsored by Extremely Hot Chips. Karen Boxell and Good Going Danika won Select High Point, sponsored by Kathy Williams Tails. Cecilia Davis rode Skips Hot With Me to win L1 Amateur Walk/Jog High Point. The High Point Junior Horse was Cruize, owned by Sam Mierzejewski. The award was sponsored by Osphos.

The High Point Small Fry rider was Emma Gore with He’s Suddenly Handsom. Danielle McDermott rode Slip Off To Sleep to win Novice Youth High Point, sponsored by Recchuiti Show Horses. Caroline Fredenburg and Ima Tuff Barpasser won 13 and Under High Point, sponsored by Quality Fabrication of Indiana. Cassidy Jensen and Chocolatey Special K topped the 14-18 High Point list. The award was sponsored by Tritan Barn Systems.
