With the recent winter weather and so called “polar vortex” that has been sweeping the nation, it’s no surprise that our four-legged friends are among those taking the brunt of the storm. In Scott County, Kentucky, two horses had to be rescued by the local fire department yesterday after they fell into a frozen lake while trying to take a drink.

Last month, two horses were rescued from a similar situation in Missouri as firefighters had to cut a path with chainsaws for the animals to escape from a frozen lake.
