This year is all about stripes. Vertical stripes. They started to appear a few years ago, mostly in youth classes, but 2019 saw a boom of designers reproducing all day shirts with stripes.
In the past, stripes were mostly seen on plain fitted shirts that were worn under boleros and vests. Now, they are starting to appear on Horsemanship tops too. The fabric is printed and stones are applied over the fabric print.
Button down shirts with stripes are also really elegant. A white base with black or blue stripes is timeless and can rock in events like Trail, Horsemanship, and Pleasure.
Stripes look good also under vests. They represent a variation to the more common one-color button down shirt and they will help you to get more easily noticed.
Black, blue, and white will be again the top colors this year, mixed with a touch of gold or silver. The innovation is in the patterns: stripes are going to be the protagonists of this show season.
What do you think? Do you like stripes?
