As dac® Vitamins and Minerals approaches 40 successful years in business, they are celebrating those who are beginning to pave their own path to success!
The new dac® Vitamins and Minerals Commitment to Excellence $1,000 Scholarship for high school seniors will be awarded to an individual whose growth has been greatly impacted by equine involvement and plans to further their education or involvement within the equine industry.
“Our 40th anniversary comes up in 2023, and since every year we hold an annual dac® Conference, we really wanted to make this one special,” Aubrey Alderman, Regulatory Manager, explains. “The younger generation is our future, so what better way to give them a boost than to help with college?”
Alderman, who is on the committee in charge of the scholarship, also recently graduated from SMU after riding on their equestrian team. She says the college experience inspired her to move forward with this great opportunity. “While coming up with the details and criteria, we wanted it to be available to a large audience of students, allowing multiple applicants,” she explains. “We want to see how the equine industry has impacted so many in a positive way, as it has for many of us here at dac®– the positive influences in ‘our world’ are endless.”
The scholarship can be completed online or downloaded in Word format from the company website. Criteria includes elements such as a 500-word essay, involvement in the equine industry, community service, a 3.0 GPA or higher, and a recommendation. Once it’s time for the recipient to be chosen, it will be done by the scholarship committee at dac®.
“This is the first scholarship we’ve offered, and it’s specifically for current seniors headed to college in 2023,” Alderman adds. “If it goes over well, we hope to come up with a recurring scholarship for college students.”
The scholarship will be presented to the winning recipient on March 10th at the annual dac® days in Dover, Ohio. Interested high school seniors can access the dac® Vitamins and Minerals Commitment to Excellence $1,000 Scholarship application at: https://feeddac.com/
