On Wednesday, Her Majesty The Queen attended the opening day of the Royal Windsor Horse Show to watch her horses compete. Her ex-racehorse Barber’s Shop was second in a high class ladies hunter line up, and her five year-old novice heavyweight hunter Tower Bridge, who was bred by Her Majesty, finished third in his class. Both were ridden by Katie Jerram.

The Royal Windsor Horse Show takes place May 13-17, 2015. Over 50,000 visitors are expected to attend the 72nd year of the Royal Windsor Horse Show which offers its audience astounding displays in the main Castle Arena, such as The Musical Ride from the Household Calvary and The King’s Troop Musical Drive, the DAKS Pony Club Mounted Games and The Shetland Pony Grand National.

Also, plans were unveiled today for a major celebration to mark The Queen’s 90th Birthday next year. Over 550 horses and 1,200 participants will stage a Birthday Party to remember in a theatrical kaleidoscope of horses, dancers, musicians, choirs and famous actors, actresses and artists. In a 90 minute show, 90 years of The Queen’s life will be celebrated.

The event will take place over four nights (12th to 15th May 2016) and will be attended by Members of The Royal Family each night, including The Queen who will attend the last performance (Sunday), which will be broadcast live on ITV.
