Just a few moments ago, the two newest Champions of the Western Pleasure Super Sires program were crowned at the 2015 Tom Powers Futurity currently underway at a slightly soggy show grounds in Berrien Springs, Michigan. Despite the rain, spectators and fellow exhibitors gathered to watch the Western Pleasure Super Sires 3-Year-Old Limited Non-Pro and Open Non-Pro Western Pleasure classes to find out who would ride out of the pen with the two $10,000 prizes!
In order to participate in the WPSS classes, horses must have been sired by one of the Western Pleasure Super Sires. The stallions enrolled for 2015 include A Touch Of Sudden, Blazing Hot, Certainly A Vision, Extremely Hot Chips, Gettin Impulsive, Good I Will Be, Struttin On The Range, How Bout This Cowboy, Hubba Hubba Huntin, Nite Moves, Presidential Order, Too Sleepy To Zip, One N Only, and VS Code Blue.
Winning the 3-Year-Old Open Non-Pro class was Megan Hawkins aboard Extremely Dark Chips (Extremely Hot Chips). The pair received $10,000 and assorted WPSS prizes! The Reserve Champion was Katsy Leeman with How Bout At Midnight (How Bout This Cowboy). Rounding out the top three was Shelley Donovan with Rain Makes Me Sleepy (Too Sleepy To Zip).
Winning the 3-Year-Old Limited Non-Pro class was Clarissa Edgerton with So Sleepy Im Magnificent. Edgerton received a $10,000 prize as well. The Reserve Champion was Kaleigh Gasperi with Our Sleepy Valentine. Both of these horses were sired by Too Sleepy To Zip.
