Today, we salute the American worker, on a day created by the labor movement in the late 19th century.
According to the History Channel, Labor Day became a federal holiday in 1894, and it’s a celebration of workers and their achievements, a working man’s holiday originating during a time in history when the average American had been working 12 hours a day and seven days a week.
