Georgia Classic Will Host $50,000 NSBA Riders’ Cup Nov. 30-Dec. 4th

The Georgia Classic is joining forces with the National Snaffle Bit Association to host the NSBA Riders’ Cup this week in Perry, Georgia. The event will take place November 3oth- December 4th.

While the Georgia Classic portion offers exhibitors six judges, the NSBA Riders’ Cup beefs up the added money offering with an estimated $50,000 purse. Judges for the regular AQHA show will be Sissy Anderson, Valerie Kearns, Jonathan Meilleur, Jon Barry, Chad Evans, and Kelly McDowall. Judges for the Riders’ Cup will be Brett Clark, Rhonda Replogle, and Cindy Rucker.

The schedule begins on Wednesday with Trail classes as well as NSBA Riders’ Cup Trail classes. Classes on Thursday will include Pleasure Driving, Western Riding, Horsemanship, Western Pleasure, Ranch Riding, Reining, and Speed. Friday’s classes will include Showmanship, Halter, Hunter Under Saddle, Equitation, Ranch Riding, Reining, and speciality Western Pleasure classes in the evening, including: NSBA Riders’ Cup 3-Year-Old Open Western Pleasure, NSBA Riders’ Cup Maturity $10,000 Ltd Horse Open Western Pleasure, and NSBA Riders’ Cup 3-Year-Old Ltd Non Pro Western Pleasure. Saturday’s classes will include Trail, Hunter Under Saddle, and Equitation. Sunday will conclude with Western Riding, Horsemanship, and Western Pleasure.

Riders Cup 2016 website banner-1Eligibility requirements for the NSBA Riders’ Cup are as follows:

Horse Eligibility

All horses require a paid nomination by the owner. Owner nominations are $100 each if paid by November 15, 2016 and $150 thereafter. Each owner nomination must be made under the name of an individual trainer previously donated and sold through the NSBA Trainers Sale. Trainers not donated and sold through the NSBA Trainers Sale may be made eligible with a payment of $500. 

Purse Distribution

The Riders’ Cup purse consists of added money as well as 55% of all paid entry fees. Distribution of the purse in each class will follow the NSBA Payout schedule with 20% of each individual payout made to the trainer and 80% made to the horse owner.
