PHJ press release in conjunction with RFD-TV and Barrel Racing Report
From across the country, cowboys, cowgirls and horses—including four Paints—are converging on Fort Worth, Texas, for The American Semi-Finals rodeo.
At 9 a.m. on February 18, 116 of the best horses in America will make their first run inside Cowtown Coliseum’s 95-foot arena as they vie for cash and a chance to compete at THE AMERICAN, the world’s richest single-day rodeo. Should one person win both semi-final rounds, he or she could earn a whopping $48,577.
The top 30 times will then come back in the performances February 20–22. From there, the fastest 10 advance to battle the WPRA’s Top 10 and a couple of special exemption riders inside AT&T Stadium on March 1 during RFD-TV’s THE AMERICAN, presented by Polaris RANGER.
Based on the qualified entries, it looks like four Paint Horses are heading to Fort Worth for The American Semi-Finals, including two who won their respective qualifying races; a few other qualifiers have strong Paint ties, though it’s unclear if they’ll stick with the horse that brought ’em or saddle up their trusty Paints.
