Back in 2013, we had the opportunity to speak with then AQHA youth competitor, Abby Floyd, about being crowned Miss Arkansas Teen USA. Fast forward three years and Abby is now competing for another sparkly crown and a much bigger title, that of Miss USA.
Click here to read our interview with Abby in 2013 when she was named Miss Arkansas Teen USA.
This week, she’s in Las Vegas along with 51 other contestants competing for the coveted crown in the nationally televised competition that will air on Sunday, June 5th at 7/6C on FOX. The finals will air live on Friday, but just like in the horse show arena, you have to make it past the preliminaries first! You can tune in to www.MissUSA.com tonight at 9 pm Central time to watch Abby compete in the preliminaries.
You can also vote to help Abby earn a spot in the Top 15. Voting is now open and will continue through June 4th at 8 pm CT (which also happens to be Abby’s birthday!) You can vote using three methods.

#2- Vote online at vote.missusa.com– After authenticating with Facebook you will received ten votes to distribute among your favorites.

For those who don’t know Abby, she is a 19-year-old from Searcy, Arkansas who won her first AQHA Youth World Championship title in 2012. Abby led her horse, Candys Mirror Image, to a win in Youth Yearling Mares that year. Then, the very next year, Abby and Candy were named the Reserve World Champions in 2-Year-Old Mares.
In her spare time, Abby has kept busy participating in modeling campaigns and traveling to pageant competitions. She holds the distinction of being Miss Arkansas Teen USA 2013 and Miss Arkansas USA 2016, the first woman in 20 years to hold both titles. She also has her real estate license and made an appearance on the hit TV show Nashville. Her platform is increasing cancer awareness, an issue that has touched her personally after losing both grandmothers to the disease. Also, her father is a cancer survivor.
