Tim Finkenbinder was at the lead of Ima Safe Bet, aka “Pooh,” for Dr. John Peck and family to win the Congress Champion title in 2-Year-Old Stallions. The Reserve Champion was Luke Castle with El Ante for Wayne and Marsha Wood. Rounding out the top three was Jeffrey Pait with Kudoz for Sylvia Walsh.
“This horse originated at Chris Arentsen’s place; Chris’s client raised him,” Finkenbinder says. “He’s by Very Cool and out of an Awesome Time mare. Chris sold the horse to Dr. Peck, a customer of Justin Bisel, and Justin has been fitting the horse. They contacted me to exhibit the horse.”
This particular horse won’t be shown in the amateur division of the class next week, however, he will be headed to the AQHA World Show this fall with Finkenbinder at the lead once again.
“He’s a great horse,” Finkenbinder says. “He’s really what we want nowadays. He’s the epitome of balance and structural correctness. He’s also N/N, which is icing on the cake. He’s a very balanced, big, strong horse, and that’s what the industry needs.”
Ima Safe Bet will be standing at Chris Arentsen Quarter Horses in Trenton, Illinois beginning in 2015.
