The American Quarter Horse Association has released the list of open and amateur exhibitors who are ineligible to show horses in the Adequan® Level 2 championship classes at the 2017 Lucas Oil AQHA World Championship Show, tentatively scheduled for November 2-18 in Oklahoma City.

The horsemen and -women on the ineligible exhibitors list are competitors who have proven their skills in the show pen and are considered highly accomplished competitors, regardless of whether they have earned AQHA points or money.

Open Exhibitors

For the 2017 Lucas Oil AQHA World Championship Show, in addition to Level 2 eligibility for the Adequan® Level 2 Championships, AQHA alliance partner earnings will also be considered.

Speed, rail and individually worked events: To show a qualified horse at the Adequan® Level 2 Championships, the open exhibitor cannot be listed on the ineligible exhibitors list.

Halter and cattle classes: To show a qualified horse at the Adequan® Level 2 Championships, the exhibitor must be Level 2-eligible and cannot be listed on the ineligible exhibitors list. (Level eligibility can be verified at services3.aqha.com/leveling.)

Amateur Exhibitors

For the 2017 Lucas Oil AQHA World Championship Show, in addition to level 2-eligibility for the Adequan® Level 2 Championships, AQHA alliance partner earnings will also be considered. To show at the Adequan® Level 2 Championships, the amateur:

  1. Must qualify by earning the predetermined number of points.
  2. Must be eligible for Level 2. Level eligibility can be verified at services3.aqha.com/leveling.
  3. Cannot be listed on the ineligible exhibitors list.

“Most of our alliance partners level their competition playing field on money earned by their exhibitors. AQHA exhibitors are leveled by points earned and by winning an AQHA world or reserve world champion title. By combining both methods, we look to further level the playing field and protect the integrity of the Adequan® Level 2 Championships at the Lucas Oil World,” said AQHA Chief Show Officer Pete Kyle.

AQHA alliance partners featured in the ineligible rider’s list include:

  • National Snaffle Bit Association
  • National Reining Horse Association
  • National Reined Cow Horse Association
  • National Cutting Horse Association
  • Ranch Sorting National Championships Association
  • United States Team Penning Association
  • Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association
  • Women’s Professional Rodeo Association
