The Stars N Stripes & Big A showbill, RV, and stall forms are now online and ready for our exhibitors to plan their trips to the Georgia International Horse Park. In 2017, both of these circuits were recognized by AQHA as top-ten shows, and the 2018 shows are on track for continued success.
One of the most exciting changes involves the NSBA dual- approved classes. Again this year, will be the chance at four sets of points; however, it’s now available at a FLAT RATE option. You can show in all of the NSBA dual-approved classes for $200. Remember that even Performance Halter is offered as dual-approved.
New this year includes the addition of the Small Fry Cross Rails and Equitation Over Fences for those 10 & under along with the Short/Long Stirrup Classes being offered. The Short/Long Stirrup classes are for those 18 & under exhibitors that are new to the over fence world. They will jump fences between 18′ and 24”. The main difference between these and the small fry classes is that a canter is demonstrated. Both the Small Fry and Short Stirrup classes are ALL BREED and offer circuit awards as well.
GQHA is proud to welcome back the Show For Dough program. New this year, they have added more than $7,200 in jackpots to the Showmanship, Horsemanship, and Equitation classes. All an exhibitor has to do is enter the dual-approved Show For Dough portion of their pattern class and he/she will have the chance at payback!
Show For Dough is adding a $1,000 Senior Trail class to their roster this year, along with the $1,000 Non Pro Class. Both of these classes will be shown on the off-AQHA Day UNDER THE LIGHTS in the Grand Prix arena during the Hunter Derby classes. It will be fun and exciting. This is the same time as the exhibitor party and it will have a lot of spectators in attendance.
Premier Quarter Sires is returning to the Big A with several of their classes. PQS is premiering a few of their exciting, Trail slot classes as well. Just recently announced is that their Trail classes will allow three-year-olds to show. Huge payouts have routinely been awarded in these classes.
The National Quarter Horse League (NQHL) is proud to be bringing their Derby Finals to the Big A. Held on the off-AQHA show day, the Hunter Derbies are always a crowd favorite. Held in the Grand Prix arena under the lights, it brings back memories of the Atlanta Olympics.
The tradition of multiple exhibitor parties continues along with the World Famous Painted Ponies and Dog Show lets even the non-showing family members enjoy the Stars N Stripes & Big A. You know you want to be there!
