APHA is pleased to offer special recognition to Intermediate exhibitors in 76 performance and halter classes at the 2021 APHA World Show. Intermediate exhibitors that compete in the listed classes and meet the new enhanced criteria outlined below are eligible for special awards and could be named Intermediate World Show Champion!
Classes
Intermediate exhibitor recognition will be offered in the following classes:
YOUTH – 14 classes
18 & Under and 13 & Under
AMATEUR – 22 classes
19 & Over and Masters
AMATEUR HALTER – 9 classes
AMATEUR WALK-TROT – 6 classes
OPEN – 17 classes
Junior & Senior
OPEN HALTER – 8 classes
Eligibility
For Performance classes, an Intermediate exhibitor is an exhibitor who has not:
Placed in the Top 2 in the past 5 years (2016-2020) at the APHA and/or AQHA World Shows in the particular class (all divisions) in which they are competing.This includes all World Championship, Challenge, and Sweepstakes classes only.Excludes Intermediate division, Limited division, and Walk-Trot (except when competing in a Walk-Trot class).
For the Intermediate division in Walk-Trot classes, previous Walk-Trot placings do apply.
For Longe Line, includes both Western and Hunter divisions.
NSBA earnings cannot exceed $15,000.
Intermediate exhibitor status is based on an exhibitor’s combined World Show record, not on the number of points they have accumulated.
For Halter classes, an Intermediate exhibitor is an exhibitor who has not:
Placed in the Top 2 in the past 5 years (2016-2020) at the APHA and/or AQHA World Shows in halter.Includes all World
Championship classes, only excluding Intermediate division and Limited division.
Intermediate exhibitor status is based on an exhibitor’s combined World Show record, not on the number of points they
have accumulated.
Awards
The top five Intermediate exhibitors in each of the classes will be given special awards, with the top two recipients being named Intermediate World Show Champion and Intermediate World Show Reserve Champion. Intermediate exhibitors must place in the top 15 final placings to be eligible for this special recognition.
Entry Fees and Deadlines
The Youth entry fees are $35 per class, and Open & Amateur entry fees are $50 per class. The Intermediate divisions must be entered along with the applicable entry fees by 5 p.m. the day before the class to be eligible for the special Intermediate recognition.
