We recently posted a meme that read: “I just told my car to whoa and sat deep into my seat. Why am I like this?”
So we asked our readers to tell us what incurable horse person habit they have! Do you tell your dog “whoa?” Or do you cluck at people walking in the supermarket?
Here’s what they revealed, and now we can all feel better that we are not alone!
Sandy DuBose
My dog is trained with horse verbal cues and clucks. I’ve been told that he isn’t a horse. If it works don’t mess with it!
Jodie Ploog
I got scared of a plastic bag going across the road. 🤦🏼♀️ Horses teach you a lot. They taught me to shy away from plastic bags and I hear every single noise before they do.
Robin Matthews
Jodie Ploog, This. 👆

Totally cluck at the dog. Did it just this morning and even laughed about it and said, “I just clucked at him like a horse.” He is a 7 pound Yorkie. 🤣

When we go to watch my nephews play hockey, my whole family has high anxiety over the kids running back and forth on the bleachers. We find ourselves telling them to please walk. At the last game my sister and I decided this has to come from showing horses as no other spectators even glance at the kids running and stomping.
Alefa Eserjose
I cluck at my dog to move. 😂
Jennifer Minor
I cluck to traffic and kiss to the truck when I’m pulling a hill with the trailer. I have been known to tell my dog to whoa.🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️
Shelby Lynn Huston
One time I was snowboarding and while I was clipping into my bindings my board started to move…I said “woah” to it. 🤦🏽♀️
Heidi Evelhoch
I get warm-up pen road rage when someone is impeding traffic in the grocery store aisle. 🤷♀️
Cathy Corrigan Frank
I count strides if I have to walk over things; painted lines in a parking lot, cracks in the sidewalk or the Battle ropes at the gym.
Lori Crow
Cathy Corrigan Frank, Glad it’s not only me!!
Christina Thode
Cathy Corrigan Frank, same!
Monique Borruso
That’s me exactly…always getting my strides right. I don’t want to tick or take down a stripe or crack!
Stephanie Friedman Craddock
Clucking at kids and dogs (occasionally the husband). My work colleague pointed out I say “eeaaassssyyyyy” when someone is getting all worked up. Lol.
Haley Henry
I always say woah to in animate objects,( dogs, car, a plastic bag, and myself) as well as do the rein hands when I hold anything. 🤦♀️
Jessica Menscer Gillis
My husband hates when I cluck at him.
Chesna Wertz

I use my elbow to bump people over.

Tell my dogs whoa or to step over.
Gordon Downey
When I drove a stick shift in high school..I always shifted and pulled my elbow back close to my side like in horsemanship . I always sat up and used my mirror with my eyes only.
Keeping shoulder down and back ..
