It’s time for another EC Photo Challenge!
Kicking off the challenge is Sydney Carpenter with these two photos she submitted of her beloved, King Poco Hancock, who passed away this year.
“He really did instill the love for the horse in me and taught me how forgiving and kind horses can be. He taught me how deeply horses can understand people and how much they are willing to give to us.”
“I went to my first shows with him when I was in 4-H and did Western Pleasure, Equitation, Horsemanship, and Trail with him. His heart was really on the trails, and he got to keep camping long after he retired from showing. He got me ready to move to my next horse, who would take me to the Quarter Horse circuit from the state level to the Amateur and Open World Show.”
“I’m grateful that he touched the life of my current show horse by being my reliable pony horse.”
If you would like to participate in the Then and Now Challenge, send in two photos that best illustrate the theme of past and present. These photos can show yourself competing as a young kid and now in the amateur division, or you with an old show horse that’s now retired. Be creative! Email your submissions to B.Bevis@EquineChronicle.com and you might see them featured on EquineChronicle.com.
