EC Photo of the Day- Mark’s Wish

Many of our readers will remember a post from February 28th of this year when we requested a call for prayers for longtime horseman, Mark Purdy, who had suffered from a heart attack. Since that time, Mark’s condition has worsened.

However, today, Mark was able to enter the Watt Arena in Fort Worth, TX. during the Aged Mares class to be honored during a special presentation. As Mark was driven into the arena in a golf cart, and his mare, MSL Shes Oh So Cool, stood by watching, the announcer relayed this message.

“We wanted to give him the opportunity to experience the spotlight here in the World Show area. Thank you so much Mark for being a part of our AQHA family, and our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family as you go through this difficult time.”

AQHA President Stan Weaver and Executive Vice President Craig Huffhines then presented Mark with a special trophy representing his accomplishments throughout this year to qualify for the Select World Show.

Congratulations Mark! Thank you for your commitment to the sport you love. We wish you the very best and our prayers are with you. Thank you for giving Gordon a smile.
