It all comes down to this.
The hours, the days, the months, and years. It takes a village, a family, a tribe to build the horse, to build the rider, to make a team. A good cop, bad cop, and a voice of reason to pull you up, put your ego in its place, and help you find your own brand of greatness.
We do it for the love of competition, always pining for just a little bit more. It swells our hearts with pride, knocks us down, chews us up and spits us out.
But then it’s YOUR number that’s called.
YOUR hours, YOUR days, months, and years that flash before you in an instant. YOUR village, YOUR family, YOUR tribe that got you here. Suddenly it’s more than just you and your horse.
This roller coaster that is horse showing is akin to our lives. We ride a series free falls and skyrocket of soaring emotions. We bounce back from what we thought would destroy us. Those moments that remind us of why we do what we do, they are all here in this one picture.
This.
This is what it’s all about.
