Today’s EC Reader Photo of the Day comes from Melisia Pekny, who sent in these shots of her son, Reese Pekny, after he was named the 13 and Under Golden Horse All-Around Champion at the Palomino World Show. Reese rode his horse, Plenty of Goodscotch, aka “Chester,” to the big win by being named a 4 x World Champion in Hunt Seat Pleasure, Road Hack, Western Pleasure, and Flag Race. He was also the Reserve Champion in Showmanship, NSBA Champion in Western Pleasure, and received Top 3 awards in Horsemanship, Trail, and Color.
Reese has been showing competitively for only seven years, but he’s no stranger to the winner’s circle at the Palomino World Show. In 2013, he won the 5-9 Golden Horse award with Hi Price Candee and was the Reserve 5-9 with Chester in 2014. He rides under the guidance of his grandmother, Connie Kaiser.
