“This photo is more than just a girl on a horse crossing a bridge. It captures Evie Claire’s final ride as a Berrien County Youth Fair exhibitor, where the last obstacle becomes a threshold. As she crosses that bridge, she steps into the next chapter of her life, leaving behind one journey and beginning another,” says Lauren Kemp of Lauren Elizabeth Photography.
“As a former exhibitor myself, I know how much these last rides mean. They signify the end of an era, the close of one chapter, and the beginning of another. Watching Evie take her final ride over that bridge filled me with nostalgia for my own last ride, and I imagine many other past exhibitors might feel the same way.
Some might think it’s silly, but those years as a 4-H equine exhibitor played a huge role in shaping who I am today. This photo of Evie resonated with me on a deeper level, and I hope it touches others in the same way it touched me.”
