EC Photo of the Day: A “Bronc”o Rooting For the Seahawks

In case you haven’t been keeping up with current events, it might be good to know that there’s a pretty important football game coming up this weekend. On Sunday, February 2nd at 5:30 p.m., the NFL Super Bowl XLVIII will kick off at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

The teams that will battle it out for the coveted trophy and title are the Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos.

Now, we horse show folk are known to be a pretty competitive bunch, both inside and outside of the show pen. When it comes to the great all-american pastime of football, everyone has their favorite team, and for those of us less-involved in the actual game, our favorite mascot or color-combination.

Although you might imagine that most of your horsey friends will be rooting for the Broncos, due to the horse connection with the team’s name, that’s not necessarily the case. We met the Preston family of Kent, Washington who went to great lengths to show off their Seahawks pride by dressing their own “bronc”o in Seahawk blue and green. Oh, and this particular horse just happens to be named “Denver.”
