The Dixie National Quarter Horse Show took place February 15-20 in Jackson, Mississippi. Billed as “The Southern Classic,” the event that takes place at the Mississippi State Fairgrounds is known for down-home Southern hospitality, great prizes, and fun speciality events.

2022 marked the 56th year for the show that’s typically the largest breed show during the largest livestock show in the south. Show management worked to revise and compress the show schedule into one arena at the Kirk Fordice Equine Center to avoid class conflicts.

The event kicked off with the Mary Hopkins Memorial Equestrians With Disabilities AQHA Show with Clay Cavinder, Michael Ochetto, LG Heier, and Chele McGauly officiating. The AQHA show was judged by Pierre Briere, David Denniston, John Kunkle, Leonard Berryhill, Brad Gibby, Brett Clark, Sandy Jirkovsky, and John Tuckey.
