For Adrienne and Taft Dickerson, the 2021 show season has been full of adventure, growth, and settling into their business as leading horse trainers in a competitive field.
Both Adrienne and Taft are no strangers to the winner’s circle. Taft has won several national titles, including the All American Quarter Horse Congress, Southern Belle Futurity, Tom Powers Futurity, and is a top 35 NSBA Open Western Pleasure rider. Adrienne has made her mark in Western Pleasure, Hunter Under Saddle, and Trail. The Dickersons’ Non-Pros have also had great success in the show pen, proving that the couple is the complete package when it comes to both training horses and coaching. Their clients have won AQHA futurity titles, AQHA Championships, and top 10 wins at the All American Quarter Horse Congress in classes including Western Pleasure, Showmanship, Hunter Under Saddle, Horsemanship, and Trail.
In January of 2021, the Dickersons moved from their established place of business in North Carolina to Carlisle, Pennsylvania to open Dickerson Show Horses–specializing in Western Pleasure, Hunter under Saddle, and All-Around events.
Adrienne and Taft both have significant backgrounds in the horse industry. Adrienne grew up competing in All-Around events and went professional in 2012. Taft’s father, Donnie Dickerson, is a leading NSBA and AQHA horseman, trainer, and judge. Taft’s mother, Millie Dickerson, is an all-time NSBA leading Non-Pro exhibitor. Taft continued the family legacy as a second-generation horseman who always knew he would grow up to be a horse trainer.
