The 2017 Big Country Quarter Horse Association Spring Show and Texas Amateur State Championship Show kicked off yesterday at the Extraco Events Center in Waco, Texas.
The show consists of two triple judged events as well as a Special Events show that includes Trail, Western Pleasure, Horsemanship, and Western Riding. Judges include Mike Hoeppner, Sara Simons, Nancy Alto-Renfro, Rhonda Replogle, Brent Maxwell, Teresa Sullivan, Karen Watters, and Curtis Reynolds.
And the fun doesn’t end when the show concludes. Stay over on Monday, May 1st for a Trail Clinic with Tim “The Trail Man” Kimura himself! There will be three sessions of the clinic with Advanced – 8:30 am to 11:00 am, Beginners – 11:30 am to 2:00 pm, and Intermediate – 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm. There is a limit of seven horses per session. The price is $100 per horse per session, or you can audit from the bleachers for $35 per person, per session. Click here to reserve a spot now.
Then, on Tuesday, May 2nd, A/S Trail Equipment and Services will be hosting a Paid Trail Warm Up that’s open to all breeds. Haul-ins are welcome. The warmup will take place 8:00 am-6:00 pm with a full course set up. Horses and riders can sign up for 10 minute sessions with a limit of five horses per session and $20 per horse, per session.
