Congratulations to Nine New APHA Judges

The American Paint Horse Association is pleased to announce nine new judges carded by the association. A total of 26 APHA judge applicants were considered: 20 were invited to test for their cards April 28-30 at the APHA Judge Applicant School in Gainesville, Texas, and six European applicants tested for their cards in March at the APHA European Applicant School and Exam in Grosswallstadt, Germany.
The newest APHA judges are: Mark Baus of Stillwater, Minnesota; April Devitt of Waddy, Kentucky; Tanya Green of Aubrey, Texas; Melissa Sexton of Okanogan, Washington; Jennifer Thomas of Reno, Nevada; Randy Wilson of Zanesville, Ohio; Heather Young of Whitesboro, Texas; Stefanie Bubenzer of Germany (European-Only Card); and Sandra Schmitz of Germany (European-Only Card).
Judge applicants must be at least 21 years old and an APHA member in good standing for at least one year prior to their application. After submitting an application and references, each applicant is reviewed by the Judges Committee and selects those applicants that will be invited to the applicant school, where they are evaluated based on a written test, live and video classes, and an interview.
“I am excited to welcome all the new judges from the 2014 class. They are an incredibly talented group that I look forward to having as APHA judges,” Director of Judges David Dellin said.
