Coming off the heels of a highly successful SOQHA Challenge Horse Show that took place the week prior in Wilmington, Ohio, The Madness took the precedent that was set and ran with it, exceeding all expectations. The Madness took place May 17-21 and saw exceptional numbers and awarded thousands in added money.

One of the highlighted events of the weekend was The Equine Chronicle Novice Horse Western Pleasure class that saw Aaron Moses ride It’s A Pretty Thing to a $15,000 payday for owner, Amy Gumz. The Reserve Champion, taking home $7,500 was Bret Parrish with Pistol Packin Mann for Richard Baumann. Third was Jason English with Gone Viral for Debbie Tieman and Jason English. The team received $5,000 for their efforts. Fourth place was Pat Heeley with Relaxx Monn, winning $3,500 for Tessa Lynch. Fifth was Kenny Lakins with She Had Me At Hello, winning $3,000 for Michael Vargo. Click here for complete results and payouts from the class.

But that wasn’t the only big money class during the weekend, The Maiden Horse 3 and Over Western Pleasure class saw another $15,000 check awarded to Dave Archer riding The Silver Foxx for owner Eric Mendrysa. Coming in second was Angie Rigdon Cannizzaro with CowboyPutASpellOnMe, winning $7,500 for Fritz Leeman. Third place was Scott Frye with A Lazy Lady, winning $5,000 for Scott Frye. Fourth place was Casey Willis with KM Custom Made Best winning $3,500 for Masterson Farms, LLC. Fifth place was Gil Galyean with Two Legit to Quit, winning $3,000 for Michael Tidwell. Sixth place was Rusty Green with Don’t Think Twice winning $2,500 for Kent Taylor. Seventh place was Pat Heeley winning $2,000 with CC Extremely Invited for Sara Heeley. Eighth was Shane Dowdy with Red Hot Introduction winning $1,500 for Mary Webre. Ninth place was Pasley Puthoff with Three Redzone for Loni Rhodes. Tenth was Jamie Murrow with Crank Up The Heat for Brad and Corrine Borton. Eleventh was Cole Baker with MZ Congeniality for Marcie Budine. The Limited Champion and Intermediate Reserve Champion in the class, winning $500 and a Harris work saddle, was Jamie Murrow with Crank Up The Heat. The Intermediate Champion and winner of $1,500 was Dave Archer with The Silver Foxx. The Limited Reserve Champion was Bobby Cooper with Imma Be A Cowboy winning $500. The Wheels Randow Draw was Saul Sliss with No Doubt My Maria.
