Today’s events provided somewhat of a déjà vu moment for Brown as she found herself once again with the highest preliminary score going into the finals. She was in the same situation at the 2012 AQHYA World Show, but unfortunately, those finals concluded with a less than storybook ending.

“He’s a home-bred,” she says. “So he’s very, very special to us. He’s my favorite horse in the barn. I like going into his stall and playing with him. My Dad showed his mom and won with his mom at the World Show.”

“[I was a] little bit nervous,” Castle says. “You know how when you walk in you get a little antsy? But after that I just showed how I know how to show and it was fine.”

This morning, Alexandria “Lexi” Tan led Oh So Righteous to a World Championship win in Yearling Fillies at the 2013 AQHYA World Show in Oklahoma City. Oh So Righteous is a chestnut mare by Righteous Mister and out of Fancy Me A Cool Kid, by Im Kiddin.

Which stall decorations best reflect the 2013 AQHA Youth World Show theme of “being somebody’s superhero?”

“A lot of people came to watch,” he says. “My mom and dad and my grandma and my two cousins came to see me, and I have a lot of friends.”

“We say three is our lucky number,” Rampey says. “That’s because I just turned 13 and it’s 2013 and it’s my third Youth World.”

“It was a tough class. I would’ve never in my life expected to win it. There was some really steep competition, but I’ve also shown at the Congress, so I’m ok with big class sizes.

“Hayden played a piano he had just found on Craigslist that morning,” Tobin says. “He also played guitar in the song and got to shake Letterman’s hand afterwards. We sat in the balcony cheering them on!”
