It was a sad day for the region as the section’s officers, grooms and volunteers accompanied the horses on the 250 mile drive to their new home. After their final journey together, they settled the horses in before saying a sad and emotional farewell to the brave mounts that had served them faithfully for so many years.

We would like to send our best wishes to our friend, Terrie Booth, who was involved in a riding accident today at a horse show in Venice, Florida. Although ill-timed, Booth’s injuries are not life-threatening, and we hope to see her back in the saddle very soon. Get well Terrie!

Kathryn Schley of Austin, MN. recently took her 4-year-old gelding named “Buzz” out for some morning exercise in the freshly fallen snow. Although Buzz appears to be a talented, little driver, Schley doesn’t typically show in competitions. She and Buzz drive purely for their own personal enjoyment.

Wearing a hunter green blanket embroidered with the message “In loving memory of Claire Davis” and a yellow rose neck wreath, Davis’s horse was led into the memorial ceremony by her horse trainer, Rebecca Johnson.

We would like to congratulate two of our good friends, Liz Hay and Jeff Long, on officially setting a date for their upcoming nuptials! The wedding celebration will take place December 6th, 2014 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Congratulations and best wishes for a long and happy life together!
