Touring little-known, or often overlooked areas of the park, guests will see cemeteries and historic sites, and hear related historic references, as well as some spooky tales appropriate for the Halloween season. The tour includes the enigmatic Salyers House and Salyers family cemetery, the Graves family cemetery, and “the old dueling grounds.” Guests will enjoy treats and hands-on participation at appropriate spots along the way.

According to a fun story from The Palm Beach Post, an Okeechobee County woman decided to bring her roommate’s horses inside her home to weather Hurricane Irma. Because the home is made out of concrete, the women decided to bring the two horses into the laundry room, which was made more comfortable with shavings and hay.

Look closely and you can see a small green ribbon pinned onto Ireland’s jacket that she wore in memory of her late father, Peter Cofrancesco.
