Today’s EC Photo of the Day comes from a private island in the Caribbean where a group of horse show families are taking a much-needed break this summer. The Johns, Searles, and MacLeod families brought along their favorite equine magazine to read on the trip!

Famous Imagine A Horse success stories include ‘equine graduate,’ Lady C, the mare ridden by country recording artist Sheryl Crow into the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo before her concert. “Lady C’s foundational trick training gave her the courage to face 55,000 screaming fans, spotlights and a pyrotechnics show,” said De Laurentis and Pogue, who have dedicated their lives to helping people and horses more fully trust one another.

As many of you plan family barbecues, trips to the lake, or even attend Memorial Day horse shows, we encourage everyone to remember the real reason for this holiday weekend. While we may sometimes lose sight of the true meaning of the red, white, and blue, it’s important to take a moment, on Memorial Day, to recognize, remember, and celebrate our nation’s heroes who died in service to our country.

Equine Affaire has just introduced the Horse Video Challenge, a contest in which you could win up to $500 for your home video of your horse, your friend’s horse, or just any horse or horses you can capture doing what horses do best: being humorous and loveable horses.

At the recent 2016 Sun and Surf Circuit in Del Mar, California, Bonnie was named the circuit champion in Amateur Select Western Riding with her horse Dun In The Dark, aka “Bucky.” She did tie with another horse and rider team for the title… herself!
Bonnie was also named the Reserve Circuit Champion with her other horse, Corporate Credit, aka “Dusty.”

“Dr. Teddy” received an honorary degree from UC Davis for being a “Master Equine Educator” for the students, having helped them learn equine health at more than two dozen appointments and a lengthy stay at the school’s teaching hospital over the past year.

Perhaps the ominous clouds that drenched race enthusiasts and created a sloppy, mud-laden track should’ve served as a warning for the sadness that was about to come, in more ways than one…

We would like to congratulate our friend Highpoint horse trainer, Beth Case, and her husband Kevin on the birth of their baby boy! Cody Justin Case was born May 20th, 2016 weighing 7 lbs 6 ounces.
