Uly is an AQHA colt by Give Me The Goods and out of an AQHA Champion, Open/Amateur mare with 500+ points named From The First Hello (Sweet Talk Me X Fabuluke).

Around this time of year, many APHA breeders and owners are sending up a little extra prayer, in addition to having a healthy foal, for a desired amount of white. Well, Rachel Weiner got plenty with this 2019 APHA foal by Kids College Fund, a chestnut, and out of Soiree, a black breeding stock.

“Unfortunately, we can’t have these horses forever. We wish we could though. I’m just thankful that he went fast and didn’t suffer. That’s always my first thought. For a Halter horse to have such a long lifespan, to me, is extraordinary. He was in great health until the very end and was never sick when he lived at our ranch. He was a sweetheart.”

APHA Amateur, Tracy Rodeback, Has Passed

Many of our readers will remember a special story about Tracy that was reported by EquineChronicle.com in 2017, during the APHA World Championship Show. A number of Tracy’s friends and fellow competitors showed their support for her then stage 4 cancer diagnosis by placing a hand over their hearts during the awards presentations at the show. Their display of love was seen by Tracy, who was back at home in Colorado watching classes on the live feed.

There is something else though- a love, a fire, a passion that’s intangible to anyone that doesn’t have “it.” We do the crazy things we do because it’s what we know, and we don’t want to imagine a life without it. The love for our equine partners can’t be described in enough words.

International Museum of the Horse Seeks to Preserve Legacy of African Americans in Equine Industry

The History Harvests are free, public events dedicated to uncovering, sharing, and digitizing items of historical significance for inclusion in the forthcoming website, the Chronicle of African Americans in the Horse Industry. All participants will also be given a digital copy of their contributions to keep. The museum does not keep the participant’s items. Only scanned images, digital photographs, or audio recordings will be archived, with permission, for future use on the website.

Hatten Family Loses Home in Fire

We are saddened to report the news that the Hatten family of five lost their house, as well as all of their belongings, last night in a fire. Family friend, Lindsay Black, will be at the APHA show in Cedar Rapids, IA. this weekend and will be accepting donations for the family. Items may also […]
