This loss is particularly poignant, because we’re currently at the APHA Youth World Show where just last year “Denver” was honored during his retirement ceremony.

Continue reading …The next several pieces of the “planned success” puzzle were put together when Darol Rodrock entered the picture. Rodrock purchased Only In The Moonlite in September of 2007 and Moonie’s success as a breeding stallion was set into motion. Darol is a man who loves horses and, as in everything else Darol does, he did his best to do it right. He gave Moonie the opportunity to become a sire. Darol had one of the best sets of broodmares in the industry, and he began building one of the top breeding programs in the country. He decided to make breeding fees affordable again, and this attracted a large group of dedicated mare owners who bred to Moonie year after year.
Continue reading …A lifelong equestrienne, Wanda was active in 4-H, saddle club and national horse associations, including APHA, and she owned B&W Quarterhorse and Paint. Elected to serve as president and vice president of the Kansas Paint Horse Association, Wanda also served as an APHA national director or alternate for 25 years. She was also active as an APHA committee member, and worked on various APHA advisory committees from 1988–2012, including Show & Contest, Rules, Breed Improvement (serving as vice-chairman) and Registration. Wanda and Bill also owned and operated grocery stores in Abilene since 1967.

– Robins Expression, earner of 584 points and an APHA world championship in Youth Western Pleasure
– Sheza Pepper, earner of 85 Amateur points with Sandy, along with 160 Open points and an APHA Champion title
– Too Sexy Formyspot, a multiple world and reserve world champion and earner of more than 1,850 APHA points
But more than the points, trophies, titles, and accolades, Blaze was a beloved member of the Schroeder family. Joan Schroeder shared the following tribute to her beautiful, Blaze.
