The Junior Hunter Under Saddle finals are scheduled to take place Thursday, November 20th at approximately 1:30 pm. The finals of Senior Western Riding will take place at approximately 5:30 pm. The Junior and Senior Ranch Horse Pleasure will follow from 7:00-9:15 pm.

The Junior Trail and Senior Trail finals are scheduled to take place 4:00-8:30 pm. this evening. The Junior Western Pleasure finals is scheduled to take place tomorrow, Wednesday, November 19th from 12:30-1:30 pm, and the Junior Western Riding finals is scheduled to take place 1:45-2:45 pm.

While the Oklahoma City State Fair Park was being blanketed by a soft coating of fluffy, white snow this weekend, exhibitors in the National Quarter Horse League Huntfield Derby Open Finals turned up the heat on the competition at the 2014 AQHA World Show. The crowning event of the NQHL show schedule kicked off on November 15th at the Remington Horse Park with a Derby Draw Party that was sponsored by AQHA stallion Allocate Your Assets.

The 2014 Farnam All-Around Amateur is Morgan Parisek of Murray, Kentucky, Parisek showed her American Quarter Horse, Better Buy The Minit. The 2005 bay gelding, who is by Do You Have A Minute and out of Tickle My Asset, was bred by Kramer/Davis of Bradenton, Florida.

They chucked the rest across the tack stall like it was garbage,” recalls horse trainer Carly Veldman-Parks of Colbert, Georgia. She vividly remembers the awful experience she and husband Wade Parks experienced two years ago at a major horse show when they lost all of their show saddles as well as some show clothing.

This past year, AQHA Executive Vice President Don Treadway announced his intention to retire in 2015 after forty years with the American Quarter Horse Association. Mr. Treadway has seen AQHA grow from a few thousand horses in America to the largest equine breed registry and membership organization in the world. The growth and popularity of America’s horse has been phenomenal until recently.

It was Julie Smith’s turn to show a horse of her very own today in Amateur 2-Year-Old Stallions, her first time competing at the World Show in nine years, and she was able to come away with a World Champion title. Smith’s partner for the class today was PF Kid Supreme, a sorrel stallion by the late MH Supremo and out of Kids Securitee.
