The team took home $8,000 for the win. The Reserve Champion was Shelby Cochran aboard Winning Instincts, a horse sired by Sudden Instinct and out of Winners Always Flirt. The team was presented with a $5,000 for their second place finish.

Signs of heat stroke can include: An elevated heart rate that does not return to normal in a reasonable period of time, excessive sweating OR lack of sweating, temperature that persists above 103 degrees F, depression, lethargy, signs of dehydration: dry mucous membranes, poor capillary refill, and poor skin turgor.
Continue reading …The main futurity event is the $5,000 Green Trail Futurity that will be run concurrently with Wednesday’s AQHA class. The entry fee is $350 upon arrival at the show. $2,500 will be awarded to both the winner of the Junior Green division and Senior Green division. Payouts will go six places deep in each division, as long as there is a minimum of five entries per class. Also, competitors must enter the corresponding AQHA class.
Continue reading …On May 24th, a very sick filly was flown by chartered aircraft from Walla Walla, Washington to Pullman, Washington, a distance of 72 miles by air, to receive immediate veterinary care from the Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine. The foal, nicknamed “Patsy,” had been born just one day earlier but wasn’t nursing and had quickly taken a turn for the worse.
