The event had over 5,700 entries in 2016. Four futurity classes will return to the schedule this year, each with $500 added: Green Hunter Under Saddle, Non Pro Hunter Under Saddle, Green Western Pleasure, and Non Pro Western Pleasure Futurity. A new addition this year is a non-AQHA Ranch Rail class that will be held prior to the Ranch Riding class.

Seven High Point winners at the upcoming International Horse Show will each receive a full page ad in The Equine Chronicle as their prize! The divisions eligible are Open, Amateur, Select, L1 Amateur, L1 Youth, 13 & under, and 14-18 Youth.

“Holding the WCHA and Big Money Futurities in conjunction with the APHA World Show will be a win-win for both of our associations,” said WCHA President Luke Castle. “We look forward to working together to grow participation in both of these events.”

Exhibitors attending the 2017 Futurity will have the opportunity to compete on Tim Kimura-designed courses for the chance to win their share of $1,000 in Green Trail, $2,500 in Non Pro Trail, $2,500 in Junior Trail, and $2,500 in Senior Trail.

This year, there are plenty of new things in store for the 2017 edition of the MTTA. This year, The Equine Chronicle has sponsored the main event of the show, the $10,000 L1 Non Pro Western Pleasure! Also, making an appearance this year is the $7,500 3 and Over Novice Horse Open Western Pleasure, which will award Highest Placing Intermediate and Limited Rider awards.
