Presented by The Collection, a niche clothing company serving hunter seat riders of all disciplines and all breeds, the $1,000 Collection Hunter Classic and the $1,000 Collection Non-Pro Hunter Classic will be held under the lights on December 30, 2013. The two $1,000 classes will showcase the talent of the country’s top Quarter Horse hunters over a traditional hunter course.

“We wanted to reward the trainer who had the most well-rounded program in the hunters, equitation and jumpers,” Kenney said. “We developed a cumulative point system. Each rider had a certain number of points through their placings at a minimum number of shows.”

“I am just so very excited, honored, and thrilled to have Bailey, the nation’s top horsemanship recruit, join our horsemanship team,” Associate Head Coach Mary Meneely said.

According to a show update from Mark Harrell Show Horses, the 2013 GQHA Classic kicked off this morning in Perry, Georgia with 20 entries in Green Trail. With yesterday’s runs completed, reining fans moved one step closer to seeing the NRHA Futurity Open Champion earn $165,000, a piece of the estimated $1.5 million+ open purse.

The National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) hosts the Adequan North American Affiliate Championships each year during the NRHA Futurity in Oklahoma City. The championships are for NRHA members and horses that have qualified through their respective Regional Affiliate Finals.

Beginning January 1, 2014, Show Passes will no longer be offered at NSBA events. All exhibitors and owners will be required to have an active NSBA membership before showing.

Mandy McCutcheon (Aubrey, Texas) and her Ms Whiz Dunit (Topsail Whiz x A Bueno Poco Dunit) jumped to the top of the level 4 non pro standings with a score of 219. Mandy and the mare won the Southwest Reining Horse Association Futurity Non Pro in October to bring her freshman earnings to more than $7,700.

Yesterday’s show concluded with section two of the second go-round of the nearly $500,000 added NRHA Open Futurity.

More than 60 open riders and horses entered the Jim Norick Coliseum Arena at Oklahoma State Fair Park to battle for a qualifying position in Saturday’s finals. Two offspring of Walla Walla Whiz sit atop the leader board of the level 4 open division composite: Walla Whiz Affair and ARC Prized Walla.
