Any ranch that owns five or more registered American Quarter Horse mares used to produce horses for ranch work, is a member of AQHA and is a Ranching Heritage Breeder is eligible to receive the award. Previous recipients may not reapply.

The best-in-show honor was given to Amy Nguyen. Her work will remain on display at the Hall of Fame until next year’s show. Nguyen’s teacher, Doug Howard, received a field trip with transportation costs included to the Hall of Fame during the 2014-2015 school calendar year.

Applicants were judged on academics, outside work experience, volunteer activities and extra-curricular activities.

She came and she conquered. British Olympic and European Champion Charlotte Dujardin is the new holder of the world record score for freestyle. With her champion partner Valegro the pair scored 93.975% in the Reem Acra FEI World Cup™ Dressage Grand Prix Freestyle at Olympia, The London International Horse Show.

Beginning January 1, 2014, an exciting expansion of the popular program adds 13 youth-specific categories. For the first time, youth (18 & under) will be able to compete among their peers.

Steagall’s new show focuses on the Western lifestyle and includes visits to historical ranches including Zoetis-AQHA Best Remuda award winners, the Four Sixes Ranch, Pitchfork Land and Cattle Co., Waggoner Ranch and others.

The championships are for NRHA members and horses that have qualified through their respective Regional Affiliate Finals. Each finals sends its eight highest placing riders, plus ties, to the Adequan NAAC to compete for North American bragging rights.

There will be six sets of points, a flat rate fee, and NSBA futurity classes. Judges will include John Boxell, David Denniston, Jill Newcomb, Cal Gomes, Lynda Danielson, and Mike Hawkins.
