Points earned by competitors at APHA-approved shows from January 1, 2013 through December 31, 2013 have been tallied, thoroughly checked and are now official.

The Awards Presentation and American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame Inductions banquets are two must-see events at the 2014 AQHA Convention March 7-10 at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans in New Orleans.

“I started the scholarship program about 20 years under one of my terms as president,” TPHC Corresponding Secretary Linda Gordon said. “I feel that the Youth are the future for everything we do. If we can help some of them out in any form or fashion, that’s what we need to do.”

“This is the fourth year I’ve judged here,” Bogart says. “It’s well-run, well-organized, and they keep things running smoothly. I just love coming out here. The horses are great, and it’s a fun show.”

The break in the NCEA season ended over the weekend and the trek toward the NCEA championship in April began. In Tennessee, the University of Tennessee Martin hosted Delaware State and Georgia. The No.6 ranked Georgia Bulldogs made the most of the weekend by finishing 2-0.

The American Quarter Horse Association is partnering with the South Dakota Quarter Horse Association to host a reception for ranching breeders affected by the region’s historic blizzard that struck in October 2013. The reception is from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on January 31 in the Dakota Ballroom at the Holiday Inn Rushmore Plaza during the Black Hills Stock Show in Rapid City, South Dakota.
