The National Snaffle Bit Association has recently updated their website to reflect the most current Riders’ List for 2014. When looking at the lists, please remember they are exclusionary, meaning they don’t include every rider eligible for event but instead those riders not eligible for the lower level of the event.

Five new permanent scholarship endowments have been established in 2013 and 2014 as part of the American Paint Horse Foundation. As endowments, these funds each produce a $1,000 scholarship annually that is awarded to an AjPHA member.

And the APHA Top 20 Shows of 2013 Are…

Leading the pack once again in 2013 was the Western Regional Zone 2 Zone-O-Rama, which took place May 23–25 in South Jordan, Utah. A perennial favorite among exhibitors, the show drew 1,147 entries per judge to clinch the No. 1 spot. The Zone 2 show has ranked first by total entries in five out of seven years.

The 42nd $200,000 American Invitational, presented by G&C Farm, which will take place on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Miami’s Sun Life Stadium. America’s “Super Bowl of Show Jumping,” is a historic event, which brings together the top horse and rider combinations in the world. Invitations for the event are extended to the top thirty equestrians on the USEF National Computer Ranking List, plus past and present Olympians and other top invitees.

Paint Horses Shine in Multi-Breed Timed Event Challenge

Dryce, an APHA member from Fairfield, Texas, qualified for the timed event challenge by having clean, fast, runs during the stock show’s APHA roping classes, held earlier in the week. The 65 fastest times from the stock show’s Paint and Quarter Horse shows were invited to return for the challenge, which consisted of one go-round and premium money awards.
