258 Horses and 950+ Entries Compete at 2014 European Paint Horse Championships

Owners from 13 different countries vied for coveted European Champion titles in 78 classes. They hailed from Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Slovakia, Sweden and Switzerland; the hometown crowd from Germany fielded the greatest number of horses. German Paints also claimed the greatest number of medals, taking home 37 golds, 25 silvers and 23 bronzes.

The Fallen Horseman Memorial Horse Show is many things to many people. Perhaps that has helped the event triple in size since its inception in 2011. The FHMHS provides a time to reflect, a time to visit with old friends, a time to educate young people about the history of the equine industry and those who have supported it. Most of all, the FHMHS is a time to remember the more than 70 horsemen and women who have been honored at this event over the last four years.

With native costumes, patriotic anthems and flags flying high, national pride took center stage at the 2014 European Paint Horse Championships in Kreuth, Germany. The 10th annual Nations Cup competition—one of the highlights of EuroPaint—took place September 4, bringing together exhibitors and fans from a multitude of countries at Europe’s premier Paint Horse competition.

The mane event took place on Friday evening when 13 groups faced off in a fun culinary competition for the opportunity to be named the American Royal’s Most Spectacular Host. Each barn served a dish of their choice, ranging from Janssen Training Stables’ Pork Tamales and Koneche Performance Horses’ Nacho Bar to Jon Barry Training Stables’ Cookie and Cupcake Bar.

Run For the Border Saddle Series at the APHC Fall Classic and Futurity!

If you’re planning on attending the October Fall Classic and Futurity you should consider attending the Temecula Valley Paint Horse Club show on October 4-5 as well. Both clubs have partnered to offer the Run For The Border Saddle Series. In order to have the chance to win a western work saddle, competitors must show at both two-judge shows. High Point Novice Youth, Novice Amateur, Youth 18 and under, Amateur 19-44, Amateur 45 and Over, and Open Horse will receive saddles, and special prizes will be awarded through third place.
