At 4:30 pm on Thursday, stick around for the always entertaining Freestyle Costume Showmanship class to benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation. The time limit is two minutes and required moves include walk, trot, 360 turn, back, and set up for inspection. A rough out saddle will be awarded to first place!

Continue reading …Yesterday, the Green/Level 1 Trail concluded with 30 entries, Novice Amateur Trail with three points, Amateur Trail with two points, Select Trail with three points, and Senior Trail with five points. This morning, the show began bright and early at 8:00 am with a five-head Pleasure Driving class, a new class added to the show this year.
Continue reading …The Shootout ended with a top score of 223 turned in by Lil Joe Cash (Nu Chex To Cash x RS Lilly Starlight) and NRHA Three Million Dollar Rider Andrea Fappani for owner Lil Joe Cash, Inc. To date, the 2008 stallion has earned $246,800 in NRHA competition including the 2011 NRHA Open Futurity Championship. The Shootout paycheck added another $21,300 to his earnings. This is the fourth Shootout title for Fappani.

Continue reading …A huge hit among exhibitors and the talk of the horse show were new improvements made to the Roberts Arena. In addition to new lighting, arena footing consisted of a special mix that was trucked in specially from Maryland. Show management confirms it took nearly 80 truckloads to fill the Lamar Arena. Currently, work is underway on the Bradley Arena, which will also include this special footing.
