“We only breed three or four mares a year, so we make sure that one or two of our mares are bred to Breeders Halter Futurity stallions,” said Andrea Olsen, whose fillies Oh So Intriguing and My Secret Dream brought home nearly $30,000 from the show.

A new schedule has been implemented for 2016 with random Trail on Friday and Saturday during set times. All Halter/Showmanship classes will run on Saturday to two judges and then to three.

Attendees will receive one-on-one time with professional trainers, opportunities to practice patterns in ​a World Show arena and a chance to settle in to the facilities before competition begins. Bootcamp work will focus on showmanship, Western horsemanship and hunt-seat equitation, with time to practice both pattern elements and essential skills. After the riding session, Boot Camp attendees are invited to stay for a hands-on banding and braiding clinic with professional bander Kate Shearer.

This regional championship features four days packed with a variety of classes, starting with junior reining at 7:30 a.m. on September 17 in the Event Center Arena. AQHA judges Mario Boisjoli, Abby Cosenza, Steve Meadows, Lindsey Martin and Gay Lynn Owens will judge the event.

“Class information has been loaded for 2015 and the basics will stay the same so that users can get draws, ongoing status, current leaders, and final results for all classes as they’re being worked,” Trask says. “We’ve moved the fairgrounds maps, stall location sheet, and pattern book to the front screen for easier access, once those become available.”
