Continue reading …In honor of his substantial legacy to the breed, an American Paint Horse Foundation endowment has been created by the Simons family. Upon completion, the endowment will support additional scholarship money in Western pleasure classes at each AjPHA Youth World Championship Show, which takes place annually during the summer in Fort Worth, Texas. Zippos Sensation has sired 956 APHA-registered foals to date—469 of which have established APHA show records. While they have tallied more than 170 world championship and 162 reserve world championships—25 of those honors have been specifically in Western pleasure.
Continue reading …“We’ve had an incredible start to the show and have welcomed exhibitors from more than 30 states, Canada, England and Australia,” Billings says. “We will give away over $50,000 in free entries to our youth and amateur exhibitors this year alone; that’s over $150,000 since 2013, something never done before. We sold 100 more stalls than last year and were up 600 entries our first weekend.”
Continue reading …Other events include a Church Service August 7 at 9 a.m., followed by The Paws Cause, a dog adoption event at 11 a.m., and a college fair August 8 and 9 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. All three events will be held in the Sales Pavilion or hallway to the Sales Pavilion. Exhibitors, friends and family are also invited to attend an exhibitor party August 12 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Jim Norick Arena. Attendees will not only be able to mingle with friends and enjoy a sweet treat, but will also have the chance to compete in the B&W Trailer Hitch contest, dummy roping contest, dog race and dog costume contest at the exhibitor party.

A DO-OVER class will be held immediately after the completion of the corresponding Aged class, with two new judges. The winner of each DO-OVER class wins $500.
