It’s an impressive feat that Keith Miller and Sleepin were able to best 123 other entries to claim the title of Congress Champion in Green Hunter Under Saddle. But when you discover that Sleepin is only two years old, their success takes on an entirely different meaning.

Although JL was a bit nervous heading into his class today, he knew his reliable stallion, PF Premo, would help him through. JL was a bit emotional exiting the pen following his big win as he gave his wife the bouquet of flowers along with a big hug. We asked him if he was excited, and he said a better word would be relieved!

“I love that you must have athletic ability for this class,” she says. “It’s very much about you, so you don’t need to have a million dollar horse to win the class.”

Cori and her mother had been keeping a close eye on the scoreboard, so they knew she was in the running for the win… if she could outlast all of her competitors.

“I wanted to honor all the veterans who have served and those who have died in service for our country. I wanted to wear my USA shirt just with everything that’s been going on lately.”

“I think I’ve made friends with the mare. She’s green, but she’s got a big, ‘ole stride and you can count it easily. She seems to have a big heart, and she’s not high energy.”
