The Georgia Bulldogs brought in two riders with monthly honors for March. Sophomore Maddy Darst earned Equifit Equitation Over Fences Rider of the Month following her MOP performance in the final round of the SEC Championship. She earned scores of 84 or above in four meets. Junior Graysen Stroud grabbed Shorty’s Reining Rider of the Month after earning MOP honors in the championship round of the SEC Championship and placed on the SEC All-Championship Team.

For performance classes, an exhibitor who has placed in the Top 10 in a performance class at an APHA World Championship Show within the last 10 years (2009-2018) or won a Paint Horse Championship performance class the previous year is not eligible to compete in any Paint Horse Championship performance class in any division.

Exhibitors at the AQHA Central Level 1 Championships saddled up their American Quarter Horses on April 10 for the opening day of competition at State Fair Park in Oklahoma City. The show kicked off at 10 a.m. with B&W Trailer Hitches Rookie youth ranch riding in the Jim Norick Arena and Level 1 youth working hunter in the Performance Arena.

The APHA NCEA Academic Honor Roll recognizes the top academic student-athletes who have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.25 while maintaining full-time enrollment in the previous spring (2017) and fall (2017) semesters, respectively.

The National Collegiate Equestrian Association announced Monday this year’s Santa Cruz Animal Health Top 10 Horses. The top horses were selected from each of the four events in the NCEA; reining, horsemanship, equitation on the flat, and equitation over fences.

Spurred by the popularity of ranch horse events that celebrate the versatility and workmanship of a cattleman’s best asset, APHA and Equibrand have teamed up to host the inaugural Ranch Work Championship July 7 at the Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth, Texas.
