New features include an extended mare nomination deadline for the Platinum and Gold Breeders’ Futurity and the addition of a Gold Breeders’ Futurity 3-Year-Old Trail class.

The American Quarter Horse Association changed eligibility for Rookie exhibitors to allow for an extra look-back year of eligibility when competing at AQHA Level 1 Championships beginning in 2020. AQHA Rookie eligibility will be based off the previous year’s points and earnings, similar to Level 1 eligibility for these championship shows.

Ranked exhibitors at Sun Circuit have the opportunity to show in the wildly popular tournament style competitions in Horsemanship, Equitation and Showmanship. Prizes are awarded after each round to the Sensational 16, Exceptional 8 and ultimately the head to head battles of The Four.

The Fall Harvest Championship is a five-judge AQHA show offering High Point All Arounds, Circuit Awards, High Point Open Exhibitor, All Breed Ranch Horse Showdown with $2,500 added, All Breed Performance and Halter Classes, random draw prizes, and fun exhibitor games. Bidding is now open for the ApHC Breeder’s Choice Stallion Service Auction. The first lot closes December 9th at 8:00 pm. 

Held at the Cardinal Hotel St. Peter Roma—just minutes from the Vatican Museums and St. Peter’s Basilica—the European Education Summit features two days of instruction with APHA Senior Director of Judges David Dellin and AQHA Senior Director of Judges Patti Carter. Together they’ll cover a wide variety of classes in an interactive format, using APHA horseIQ as a learning tool. Judge applicant testing is offered on the third day and includes a written rule book exam, video testing and individual interviews.
