The AQHA Executive Committee and AQHA leadership are currently evaluating protocols and recommendations to implement when local, state and federal mandates are lifted and the impact of any new guidelines on AQHA shows and programs. The Executive Committee recently approved waiving the gate as a mandatory obstacle in trail, AQHA Rule SHW 466.1, and Versatility Ranch Horse trail, in addition to the obstacle drag in open, cowboy and amateur VRH ranch trail, AQHA Rule SHW561.7.

The Arizona L1 Championship Shows- the Arizona Fall Championship and Pinnacle Circuit- will be offering special awards for their L1 exhibitors. Circuit trophies will be presented in all L1 classes, and Reserve and third place overall will receive embroidered outerwear.

The Appaloosa Horse Club Board of Directors met on Wednesday to discuss a variety of issues related to ongoing operations and the effect COVID-19 is having on the National Show and regional shows. The Board has continued the meeting to next Wednesday, May 20. By that time, the Governor of Texas will have made updated decisions on entering the next phase of re-opening in the State which will allow us to make a final decision concerning the National Show. At that time, we’ll issue an immediate press release to members who are anxiously awaiting this decision.
