There, looking picturesque in the pasture just beyond tables of rummage bargains, was Virtually Adorable, a 2008 sorrel solid mare who, at age 10, was virtually untouched and unbroken.

Of course, I want to thank Jason and Charlie for letting me show him. They could’ve taken over, because neither of them had a good green horse for here. But, Jason let me keep the one I had started out the year on. I would like to thank the Raymund family for letting me show him and for letting us keep him a green horse throughout the year.”

Traveling from Québec, Canada was intimidating for Bibianna, but she will never forget how relaxed she was going into showmanship. Little did Bibianna know she would end up in the Top 3 of her Novice Showmanship class. “I knew my horse, my trainer, and I had done the best preparation. It was the best moment of my life.”
Continue reading …“I’d like to be the first Black woman to win a world championship in APHA,” Esperanza confided. “That’s what I’d like to do. And I think I’m in the right company to do that. Everyone is working hard here, everyone is putting in the saddle time, they’re working out, they’re running in the dirt and I have so much respect for that. I want to be part of it. I can be a warrior among warriors. And these folks are our warriors, and they’re really good at what they do.”

Continue reading …The National Snaffle Bit Association Board of Directors recently approved a new scoring system for the Longe Line classes to go into effect January 1, 2021. Working through the NSBA Judges Committee, the new system aligns the Longe Line with scoring systems already in place in other classes where each performance is judged on a basis of 0 to infinity with 70 denoting an average performance.
