Western Pleasure exhibitor standouts in both Level 2 and Level 3, riding multiple horses, with their earned Farnam AQHA World Championship Show matrix points added together, will be titled champions. In short, that describes the Western Pleasure Challenge, which is being added by the American Quarter Horse Association to the 2020 Farnam AQHA World Championship Show in November at the OKC Fairgrounds in Oklahoma City.

The event is scheduled for approximately 6:00 pm on Friday evening when three-year-old Quarter Horses will be shown in three sequential classes- a pattern class with a blend of Trail and Western Riding maneuvers, which counts as 40%, sponsored by Cimarron Trailers; a Western Pleasure class, which counts as 40%; and a conformation class, which counts as 20%, both sponsored by The Equine Chronicle. Blue Ribbon Custom Tack will be providing silver show tack for the winners, as well as a special incentive of a custom work saddle for the rider who finishes in eleventh place.

This year’s Farnam AQHA World will host the 2020 AQHA Select World Championship Show, presented by Adequan® (polysulfated glycosaminoglycan); AQHA Ranching Heritage Challenge Finals; and the Adequan® Level 2 and Nutrena Level 1 championships. The 2020 Farnam AQHA World will be held pending local, state and federal coronavirus mandates. As a teenager, Ray Graves decided he wanted to be a cowboy, and he never looked back. Though he first roped aboard Quarter Horses, it wasn’t long before Ray bought his first Paint Horse, a mare named Waheni for his wife, Delois. The duo found quick success, and Ray purchased his first stallion, Sky Top Bar, in 1968.
