As of March 31, there are 2,102 qualifiers – 1,058 amateur and 1,044 open – for more than 90 events at what’s considered the American Quarter Horse industry’s most prestigious event.

New for 2014, LubriSyn has funded two new scholarships for AjPHA members. Two lucky recipients—one male and one female AjPHA member—will each receive a $1,000 college scholarship courtesy of LubriSyn. Additional details about these new scholarships will be released soon.

The National Snaffle Bit Association is excited to unveil a new program that will allow participating NSBA members to compete for an estimated $100,000 purse this fall. In its first year, the NSBA Riders Cup will be held October 4-5 at Roberts Arena in Wilmington, Ohio, just prior to the 2014 All American Quarter Horse Congress.

Shawn Flarida is no stranger to winning the Kentucky Reining Cup, having won here the last three years, and this year he took the top spot again, by scoring 452.5 aboard Michell Kimball’s Spooks Gotta Whiz.

Joining Shawn and Jordan on the United States team are Mandy McCutcheon with Yellow Jersey (QH), Andrea Fappani with Smoking Whiz (QH) and Custom Cash Advance (QH), Troy Heikes with Lil Gun Dunit, and Tom McCutcheon with Dun Git A Nicadual (QH).

Judges for the show will be Brian Ellsworth, Brent Maxwell, Rob Meneely, Jeffrey Pait, Nancy Sue Ryan, and Carla Wennberg.

Meet and Greet with the Hollywood Horses RJ Masterbug (“Hidalgo”) and Novelisto (“A Winter’s Tale”). The famous equines will be performing tricks and posing for pictures while their trainers, Rex Peterson and Cari Swanson will be signing autographs on photos you can take home.

The 2014 Indiana Quarter Horse Youth Association show is now underway in Cloverdale and will continue through April 27th providing AQHA competitors with five judges.
